Our bistro does not proudly bear the name Bertoldi for nothing. There is a long history of Lugi Bertoldi behind it. The genius pizza maker and great-great-great grandfather of one of our founders. Luigi was born around 1912 into a family of pizza makers in the north of Italy in the Bertoldi Frazzione area. Even as a child he had a great affinity for geometry, mathematics and oval shapes. Fortunately, he had loving parents who tolerated his weakness and adapted the family home accordingly. So little Luigi played with round blocks, his room had round windows and it is said that even the corners of his walls had to be round.
